Nevins Inc. serves individuals with developmental disabilities, ages 16 and up, by providing the structure and social tools they need to work and interact in the community. At Nevins, we believe in innovation and vision, integrity and trust, respect for all people, individualism and unlimited potential. We believe all our consumers should engage in their communities however they feel comfortable – by seeking competitive employment, volunteering or utilizing community resources.
Annually, Nevins Inc. supports over 200 consumers, with developmental disabilities such as mental retardation and illness, epilepsy, traumatic brain injury, autism, and learning disabilities in Mecklenburg County.
PROGRAMS OFFERED AT NEVINS INC
CAP MR/DD Day Supports Program
is an adult day support program that meets the daytime needs of adults with developmental disabilities, while promoting their dignity and independence by providing assistance with acquisition, improvement and retention of adaptive, socialization and self-help skills. Many of the consumers enrolled in this program engage in community and volunteer activities which promotes community integration.
Abilities and Possibilities
is an organized service during the day in a community group setting for the purpose of supporting adult’s personal independence, and promoting their social, physical, and emotional well-being. Services include a variety of program activities designed to meet the individual needs and interest of the participant.
Employment Groups
are groups that will operate either at the employer site or onsite at the Nevins campus. These groups consist of staff and consumers working together to complete work assignments. All consumers are paid at least minimun wage and are eligible for raises.
CAET Program
is an individualized, one on one service, with one staff member delivering services to one individual for the authorized service units one hundred percent in the community.
Community Assessment and Educational Pathways Program
is a community program for persons with developmental disabilities and other related impairments. The programs will asses the skills, abilities and level of care needed for individuals to fully integrate into the community. Also know at CAEPP.
